   Abstracts and full papers are invited from desirous participants for presentations at technical sessions on various themes. The full length original research article in soft-copy should reach to us within prescribed date. The paper should be in English only. The selected research articles will be published in the UGIT’s International Journal -“Geographical Analysis” & “Geo-eye”. For full length research articles see the instruction to the authors in the UGIT website www.ugit.net Delegates willing to Poster Session on the focal theme will also be arranged, therefore researchers who intends to present the same have to be informed well-in-advance. Please use the registration form to propose a paper. You will be asked to include names and details of your invited speakers.

6. Young Scientist Award Competition
   
   

   Young Scientist Award Competition

   Research articles along with abstract will also be invited by young researchers who are below 35 years of age and wish to present and compete in Young Scientist / Technologist Award Session. The research articles submitted under this should be focused on conference theme and should be original. Three best articles would be selected from this session for the Young Scientist / Technologist Awards and cash prize of Rs. 10000, 5000 and 3000 for 1^st, 2^nd & 3^rd would be given respectively along with certificate, medal & memento. Eminent academicians would be in selection committee for the entire process. The selection would entirely be based on relevance of the research topic, methodology applied, techniques used for analysis, output of the research and presentation. The research articles presented in this session will be published in up-coming international peer-reviewed journals of ‘Geographical Analysis’ and ‘Geo-eye’.

   Abstract and Keywords

   An abstract should not be more than 300 words. It should summarize the purpose, methods, and major findings of the research work. The abstract should be original and not published before. Authors should provide three to six key words. The abstract should be submitted online only (For details visit www.ugit.net). Abstract without registration fees will not be printed in the abstract volume. Please use the registration form to submit your abstract.

   Registered and confirmed participants will be provided accommodation in Bangalore University Campus and nearby places and staying information with details will be sent to them through mail / SMS. Accommodation facility would be extended during conference dates only. Any accompanied candidate needs to pay for accommodation. However, if any delegates wish to stay extra days needs to pay by them. Delegates participating in the conference needs to come to Bangalore University Campus by local transport as frequency of busses running from Airport, Railway Station, and Bus-Station to University Campus are high.

   The Conference will be held on 25^th& 26^th November 2016 in the Department of Geography, Jnanabharathi Campus, Bangalore University, Bengaluru. The University Campus is located in south-western part of Bengaluru adjacent to Mysore road and is roughly 10 kms from Railway-station / Kempe Gowda Bus Station (KBS) and around 40 kms from Airport.

    An award is a form of honour, a kind of recognition aimed to felicitate one’s excellent contribution in a chosen field. An award is not only a great prestige or a mark of excellence, but is also a tremendous boost for someone to strive and excel higher and aim for even bigger accomplishments in life. It is the ultimate token of recognition of purest of talents and highest of achievements. With an object of encouragement and inspiration to teaching and research community UGIT is giving Excellency Awards since last year. The executive body selects the contributors to felicitate them on UGIT’s 5^th International Conference. The Awardees name and achievements would be appeared in UGIT’s Geographical Analysis Journal. On the occasion of the International Conference, UGIT would like to recognize and honour researchers, Geographers, technologists and academicians from geo-spatial community, who have best record in their respective areas and who have promoted geospatial technologies in applying different fields are facilitated in the inaugural function of International Conference. Ten candidates would be selected across India and the World.

    UGIT’s Journal Publication

    The Department of Geography, under Union of Geographic Information Technologists (UGIT) publishes original and innovative research articles consisting of geography and allied disciplines. The “Geographical Analysis” (ISSN 2319 - 5371) and “Geo-Eye” (ISSN 2347 - 4246) are the two international peer-reviewed journals of the UGIT. Geographical Analysis comprises research articles which aim to ascertain and update geographical knowledge through its biannual publication. Geo-eye is an e-journal and is biannual in character. These journals provide ample opportunities for researchers for whom this would be a stepping stone as formal research writing. Articles published under these journals address various research issues & challenges, which resolve the practical problems faced by the contemporary world.
