During 2008-09 to 2014-15 the department has completed 2 major projects and a minor project. These are funded by UGC (Rs. 75,000), BUB (Rs. 2, lakhs) and ISRO / RESPOND (8.5 Lakhs).
UGC – SAP –DRS – 2011-2016: The Department has been awarded UGC – SAP –DRS – 2011-2016 for the period of five years. Under this programme new thrust areas have been identified to take-up research work.
Thrust Areas Identified Under SAP:
- The Application of the Geo-spatial technology in Urban & Regional Geography.
- Spatial Analysis of Micro-level Regions in Karnataka.
- Challenges and Issues of Urban Sustainability: A Case Study of Bangalore.
- Climate change and its impact.
